Samaire Provost: Importance of Beta Readers

I think that Beta readers are very important. For my first two books, I had just two, my husband and my son. Ideally, a beta reader will read the draft for not only errors but also, story excitement and logic. I think if you can find two or three really good readers, your story will really show the benefit. If you don't have any beta readers, all is not lost, but you must realize that you are writing in a kind of bubble and have no real outside opinions to bounce your story off of. Perspective matters, and the more perspectives, the better. I am in the process of gathering more beta readers to me and I think my 2013 stories will reflect those additional readers. I'm hoping my fans will notice a difference (for the better).

About the author
Born naked. Clothed and fed shortly thereafter by adoring parents who looked on in bemusement as their daughter became a reading, writing, free-spirited, feral, animal loving, bleeding-heart chocolate lover who laughs easily. Samaire Provost is a California writer of Young Adult novels. Her love of paranormal stories, odd plots, and unique tales as well as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R Tolkien, E.A. Poe, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and Stephen King has deeply influenced her writing.
